Chelsea captain John Terryhas defiantly declared they are still the best team in the country.
Terry refuses to give up hope his struggling side, who have won just one of their last eight matches, can retain the title.
He said: "The top of the league is still really open at the moment. We still have to play Manchester Unitedtwice while Manchester City have played a game more than us.
"There are plenty of opportunities for the teams in and around us to drop points again and we just have to make sure that we are picking up maximum points as often as we can.
"That has to be the aim at this club, we are Double winners, the best team in the country. With the amount of trophies we have lifted, the players we have and the quality of football we know we are capable of, it’s up to us to win games now.
"It’s about returning to that consistency we are known for. We have to keep going. Winning is the best feeling so we need to go on a run of games now, show our consistency, determination, hunger and fight to win the league again."
