Manchester United full-back Patrice Evra claims there is a sense of expectation whenever Javier Hernandez steps onto the pitch.
Hernandez enhanced his growing reputation by coming off the bench and scoring the winner against West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
Hernandez’s impact performances have been likened to that of former United favorite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Evra claims that he almost expects Hernandez to score every time he steps onto the pitch.
“Always when he comes on you feel he will score. It’s unbelievable,” he told Sky Sports.
Despite Hernandez’s impressive displays boss Sir Alex Ferguson has used the Mexican international sparingly to get used to the rigors of Premier League football and Evra believes that ‘Chicharito’ would like more game time at Old Trafford.
He said: "I do think he wants to play more. When you play football you want to start every game."
The game against West Brom also saw Wayne Rooney’s first goal from open play since United’s Champions League tie at Bayern Munich back in March and Evra was pleased to see his team-mate back on track.
"I am very glad for Wayne. He deserved to score because he has been working so hard in training,” he added.
"He showed what character he has at the end when he came back on to the pitch.
"That was good for Manchester United and now I hope Wazza [Rooney] can score more goals."
United’s win extended their unbeaten run this season and kept them at the top of the Premier League, level on points with rivals Manchester City with two games in hand.
