Former England national team manager Kevin Keegan doubts whetherDavid Beckham still has the quality to compete in the English Premier League.
The 35-year old formerManchester United star midfielder is being heavily linked with a loan return to the top flight, withTottenham and Newcastle Unitedbeing touted as potential landing pads, but Keegan remains skeptical regarding the possible move.
Beckham has said that a shift back to England for a month or more may help him return to the England national team fold but Keegan thinks that may beyond him although he tip him to turn his hand at management once his playing days with MLSclub LA Galaxy are over.
"Playing for England again, playing back in the Premier League, that'd be a big ask, I think," Keegan told ESPN.
"Can he be a coach? Of course he can.
"He's a bright guy, he's worldly, he knows how to communicate with people, he's got vast experience.
"David Beckham can be anything he wants to be. If he wants to be a manager, that's fine."
