Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish believes that referee Howard Webb got two major decisions wrong during Sunday's game against Manchester United.

The two sides met at Old Trafford on Sunday in the third round of the FA Cup, which also happened to be Dalglish's second coming as the Merseyside club's boss.

But his return to management began on a sour note, as Dimitar Berbatov fell in the penalty area after what appeared to be little contact with defender Daniel Agger - and the man in charge pointed to the spot.

Ryan Giggs went on to convert the penalty, which proved to be the winner as no other goals were scored during the rest of the game.

But there was further controversy in the first half, as skipper Steven Gerrard was sent off for a challenge on Michael Carrick.

And the Reds boss believes that Webb got both decisions wrong, as he told reporters: "The penalty was a joke.

"Unless they have changed the rules it is not a penalty.

"The other one, I cannot see that as a red card either. In the dressing room before the game someone said to me the game's not changed that much. I said, 'I thought it was a non-contact sport'. Maybe I was right."
