Dimitar Berbatov has revealed he plans to entertain the fans as one of his targets at Manchester United this season.
The striker, who has already notched six goals this season, including a wonderful hat-trick against Liverpool, has helped to preserve his club’s unbeaten record so far this term.
And he has admitted that he is keen to be playing regularly and enjoying his football while contributing to United’s hunt for silverware this season.
"My first target is to stay clear of injury. I think that is the first target for everybody. Then you think about what you want to do in the season," he told the club's official website.
"Obviously you'd like to win everything, but it's not easy, so you think about how you can help the team - score goals, make assists, as much as possible."
In the past, the Bulgarian’s style of play has led to him being criticized, but when he is on top form he can be a joy to watch and he admits that he always tries to entertain the fans.
"That's my aim. You need to know when to slow it down, when to increase the tempo.
"[Zinedine] Zidane was great at doing that. He knew what he could do with his touch and when a player is sure in himself, he can do great things."
The striker also hinted that he might like to play in a deeper role when he moves towards the twilight of his career and that he loves the challenge of playing different positions.
"I keep trying to play in defense in training, but they all scream at me 'Go forward, go forward'. However, I enjoy it.
"You never know. Many people start as strikers and then move to the midfield. My father was a striker and then he moved back to the defense.
"Maybe I'll enjoy playing in the midfield when I'm 37."
